“O-What!?”

“OVERFLOW!”

Who we are: The name Overflow comes from Psalm 23,

“You set a table before me As my enemies watch; You anoint my head with oil; My cup overflows. Only goodness and love will pursue me all the days of my life; I will dwell in the house of the Lord For years to come.

Our mission as a high school youth group is to follow Christ. But following Christ isn’t always as easy as it sounds… we need encouragement from one another, knowledge of our faith, and ultimately, we need grace to follow Jesus’ call to discipleship.

In Psalm 23 (quoted above), we see that even though we “walk through the valley of the shadow of death,” we have hope and strength because Christ gives us the sustenance that we need! Instead of just giving us one drink to quench our thirst, Jesus gives us an overflowing cup of grace that never runs dry!

Therefore, we call ourselves “Overflow” to remind ourselves and others that we are called to overflow in love and compassion just as Christ is overflowing with love for us.

With the Mass as our center, we remain focused on Christ through learning from his divine Word and becoming Christ to others through his most precious gift of the Eucharist.

“You set a table before me as my enemies watch; You anoint my head with oil, my cup OVERFLOWS. Only goodness and love will pursue me all the days of my life; I will dwell in the house of the Lord for years to come.” –Psalm 23: 5-6
